Grits

Grits are so simple and easy as a breakfast dish or side dish.

1 part grits to 3 parts liquid + salt to taste

Add 1/2 cup grits and 1 1/2 cups water to a medium sauce pan and stir. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer, stirring frequently.

Cook for 20-25 minutes until all water is absorbed.

Serve warm.

Top with butter and syrup for sweet grits or cheese and bacon for savory.
