Urban Agriculture

Urban Agriculture, aquaponicsThere has been a rise in rooftop greenhouses, backyard farms, community garden and small scale aquaponics in urban environments. The movement follows personal feelings and a strong desire to eat non-toxic food that is nutritious. People want to eat honest and understand how their food is being made. The ability to grow your own food is also exciting to many.

This change in agriculture is taking weight off farmers and giving economics the ability to grow. With money staying in a community, it allows for it to circulate and easily be given back. The influx of urban agriculture also creates local jobs. This new trend is still relatively new, but will impact us all in a great way. When we all work together, we can create a more sustainable environment.
